NAPPANEE – Owen A. Miller, 97, of 616 2nd B Road, Nappanee, died at 2:50 p.m. Dec. 23, 2011, at his residence. He had been in declining health.
He was born Aug. 20, 1914, in Kokomo, to Andrew D. and Lizzie Troyer Miller. On March 18, 1943, he married Edna Schmucker, who died March 27, 2005.
He moved to Nappanee in 1945 from Kokomo. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Emma (and spouse Simon) Borkholder, Nappanee; two sons, Daniel (and spouse Lena) Borkholder Miller, Nappanee, and Ervin (and spouse Orpha) Bontrager Miller, Colchester, Ill.; 25 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Leanna Miller, Lagrange; and a sister, Mary Hochstedler, Kokomo. He was preceded in death by three sons, a sister and three brothers.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday with The Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church officiating. Burial will be in Weldy Cemetery.
Calling is after 3 p.m. today and all day Sunday at the family home.
