Four area residents continue to recuperate at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, after incidents that occurred recently in Kosciusko County.

Joshua Farias, 14, of Warsaw, was upgraded from critical to serious condition since being admitted to the hospital Monday after an apparent overdose of prescription medication.

The teen was airlifted from Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, to Parkview because of his condition.

Cassi Bause, 14, of Warsaw, was upgraded from serious to fair condition with injuries suffered when she was run over by a school bus Aug. 28 in front of her residence.

Bause suffered a broken leg and was airlifted from the scene of the accident on CR 100N. The teenager was already walking with the assistance of crutches due to a pre-existing back injury.

Two other people, Jonathan Shepherd and Joseph Glant, remain in fair condition at Parkview.

Shepherd, 13, of Pierceton, suffered internal injuries when the dirt bike he was operating collided head-on with a dirt bike driven by his father, Carlie J. Shepherd, 34, Pierceton. The accident occurred Aug. 18 on Wooster Road.

Glant, 43, of Warsaw, was injured in an Aug. 24 incident at Time Out Inn, Warsaw. Police believe Glant was struck from behind with a beer bottle. He suffered a head injury from being hit and injuries to his arms and legs from falling to the ground.

The incident remains under investigation. [[In-content Ad]]
