Mitchell and the former Merla Bryant were married Dec. 29, 1972, at Apostlic Gospel Tabernacle, Warsaw, by the Rev. John Reid.
Mitchell has been a diesel machinic for Diesel Power Machine for 36 years. Merla has worked at the Times-Union warehouse as supervisor for 30 years, retiring at year’s end. She has had a paper route for 36 years.
The couple have six children: Joshua, Kokomo; Natalie and Daisy (and spouse Jason) Hollon, all of Warsaw; Jenney (and spouse Chris) Dorgan, Big Rapids, Mich.; Mary (and spouse Jerry) Shelby, Gas City; and Min Lee, Seoul, Korea; and seven grandchildren.
They will celebrate with a family dinner and a family trip to Florida next summer. [[In-content Ad]]
