It's almost time for students to go back to school.

Problem is, with the economic downturn, it will be difficult for some parents to afford school supplies and other necessities for their children.

Our Father's House, 401 Argonne Road, Warsaw, will offer its fifth annual Back To School Aug. 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Those who attend the event will receive three free outfits, new socks, underwear and school supplies.

The supplies are purchased by Our Father's House and people in the community.

"We helped more than 500 children last year, and expect to help at least 700 children with how the economy is," said Roz Morgan, founding director of Our Father's House.

The items are for those in need ages preschool to senior year in high school.

People who want to donate school supplies can drop the items off Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Our Father's House.

Items needed include rulers, lined paper, crayons, markers, backpacks and pencils.[[In-content Ad]]
