Orville Spears, 65, of 7028 E. Heritage Drive, Pierceton, died at 1:45 p.m. April 12, 2009, in his residence.

He was born Oct. 17, 1943, in Emma, Ky., to Thomas and Mallie Spears. On Feb. 23, 1962, in Claypool, he married Tealie Flanery, who died Oct. 15, 2007.

Living in Kosciusko County for 47 years, he worked at Gatke Inc., Warsaw, for 18 years and retired as a machine operator from DePuy Inc., Warsaw, after 20 years. He was a member of Victory Christian Center, Warsaw.

Surviving are a daughter, Emily Sue Robinson, Pierceton; two sons, Orville Dion (and spouse Susan) Spears, Lewisville, Texas, and Rocco Colovito (and spouse Jean) Spears, Pierceton; four brothers: Roy Burkhart, Wabash; Donald "Jake" Burkhart, Warsaw; and Chad and Sam Burkhart, both of Claypool; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Chad Burkhart officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
