LIGONIER - Orlin Paul Doege, 69, of Cromwell, died at 1:57 p.m. March 29, 2010, after a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 10, 1941, in Roanoke, to Herbert and Florence Mayberry Doege. On Feb. 23, 1963, he married Sharon J. Gibson, who survives.

He moved to Cromwell from the Fort Wayne area in 1967. He retired from General Electric in 1997, after 37 years of service. He was active in the Enchanted Hill Association and Boy Scouts as an adult volunteer leader for more than 20 years.

Also surviving are three children, James (and spouse Cathy) Doege, Greenville, S.C.; Deborah (and spouse Joe) Strange, Wesley Chapel, Fla.; and William (and spouse Adrienne) Doege, Cromwell; nine grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Hinman, Roanoke; and a stepsister, Jean (and spouse Norbert) Gabet, Syracuse. He was preceded in death by a sister.

Services will be at 5 p.m. Friday at Yeager Funeral Home, Ligonier, with Pastor Dave Bosenberg officiating.

Calling is from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
