SYRACUSE - Orley E. "Gene" Brown, 91, of Syracuse, died at 11 p.m. July 7, 2007, at Miller's Merry Manor, Syracuse.

He was born Nov. 10, 1915, in Syracuse, to Orley E. and Mary F. Moats Brown. On Sept. 28, 1940, in Syracuse, he married Phyllis E. Botts, who died in 1996.

A lifetime Syracuse area resident, he graduated from Syracuse High School in 1934. He was a farmer most of his life and a member of Eagles Lodge 3760, Syracuse.

Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Don (Kay) McCulloch, Syracuse, and Mrs. Jon (Susan) Roddie, St. James City, Fla.; a son, Joe Brown, Syracuse; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with the Rev. Harlan Steffen officiating. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
