Auto parts retailer O'Reilly Auto Parts is being built on North Detroit Street in Warsaw south of Advance Auto Parts.

The business is scheduled to open at 1153 N. Detroit St. in February, according to Patrick Tasset, O'Reilly Auto Parts project administrator.

The contractor for the project is DMI Inc., Mt. Vernon, Mo.[[In-content Ad]]Construction of the 7,500 square-foot $970,000 building began Sept. 22 and plans are to finish construction by Jan. 18.

O'Reilly Auto Parts offers services including vehicle battery testing and recycling of old car batteries free of charge.

Other services include vehicle drum and rotor resurfacing and vehicle fluid recycling.

Store hours for the Warsaw location are yet to be determined, according to Tasset.

Tasset said typical store hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. He said the store also holds hours on Saturdays and Sundays.

"We do not offer oil changing services, we specialize in auto parts retail sales," Tasset said.

The company opened stores this year in September in Columbia City, Fort Wayne and Elkhart. The store in Warsaw will make the fourth store in Indiana.

The company plans to open another store in Fort Wayne in November, according to Tasset.

The company has 3,300 stores across the United States.

Tasset said the company is excited to open a store in Warsaw.

"It is a good property location and will help us to expand our stores," Tasset said.

Warsaw City Planner Jeremy Skinner said the company received a building permit from the Warsaw building and planning department this month and had a plan review in February.

Skinner said a home previously occupied the property that was demolished recently and the property has been zoned commercial for some time.
