One Held In Theft Of Guns

The Do-it Best Hardware Store, 113 W. Main St, Syracuse, was broken into March 15. Ten Rifles and shotguns were stolen during the burglary.[[In-content Ad]]Durng the next week, Syracuse Police Department, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms along with the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force, investigated the burglary.
According to SPD, several pieces of evidence were secured that developed a suspect.
Travs Ray Green, 22, of 105 N. East St., Milford, was arrested Friday morning on possession of stolen property and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, both class D felonies.
Of the 10 guns stolen, seven were recovered by police.
SPD said the investigation is continuing and several more arrests are expected.
According to SPD, Green is currently on parole after a 2005 conviction for the theft of a gun. There was also a battery warrant out for Green at the time of his arrest.
Green is being held at Kosciusko County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
Green is expected to be charged in federal court this morning.
