A man suspected of being involved in thefts in Kosciusko and Wabash counties is in custody after being arrested Tuesday afternoon.

Aaron W. Wilhelm, 23, of North Manchester, was arrested by Kosciusko County Sheriff's Detectives Tuesday afternoon at a residence at 12638 S. CR 200W, Silver Lake.

Wilhelm was arrested for his alleged involvement in a theft from an outbuilding on CR 100W, Silver Lake.

Landon Martin, of 11434 S. CR 100W, Silver Lake, reported the theft of numerous tools and other items from a chicken house that was under construction on his property.

After discovering the items missing, Martin and his mother, Teresa Martin found all-terrain vehicle tire prints in the snow and followed them to 12638 S. CR 200W, Silver Lake and a neighboring mobile home at 12634 S. CR 200W, Silver Lake.

When Det./Sgt. Joe Mooney arrived at the residence on CR 200W, he found an all-terrain vehicle as well as a hay wagon that had been reported stolen.

Detectives Josh Spangle and Jon Tyler responded to the scene, and a search warrant was requested.

Once they got the search warrant, officers entered the mobile home and reportedly found Wilhelm hiding in the residence, which also reportedly had several firearms and other stolen items.

When he went in the second mobile home, Spangle reportedly found a marijuana growing operation and other various drugs and pills.

Mooney believes that the items found in the residence could be linked to several burglaries and thefts in the southern part of Kosciusko County and the northern part of Wabash County.

The incident remains under investigation, and police are investigating the possibility of others who were involved with Wilhelm.

The mobile homes are allegedly rented to Alicia Combs, who has not yet been found for questioning.

Wilhelm was arrested at the scene on a Wabash County warrant for revocation of probation, which came from an original charge of burglary. Detectives are meeting with the Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office this morning to file various charges against Wilhelm.[[In-content Ad]]
