Of Mice And God

I was doing a little pondering (so to speak) one day and asked myself, "What word or topic would I say is most important, for a teacher or preacher, to speak on. I decided upon a word I heard about but did not give it much attention until now. The word is "relationship." Relationship with God. Then - doing a little more thinking of words - love, faith, salvation and hope are also important. So I decided "relationship" is one of the important topics of importance.

Something just happened to me recently that I think, if it happened before girls, they would scream. I, sitting in my rocker and partly asleep, saw a large mouse a few feet from me. I think I had to look twice to believe it. Well, I got up saying, "Help, Lord." I realized not to catch it could be awful. If it hid among things, I would wish to tear the room apart until I would catch it. Well, it ran up and down the hall a bit and then turned into a room, crowding against the wall, trying to hide. I stepped on him. I got him.

To have a relationship with God is perhaps not the only important topic but, oh, when you can call for help and get it when so important, I must say it is so wonderful, beyond words. It makes me want to thank God, praise Him, worship Him forever and forever. The Bible reads, "...ye have not because ye ask not." James 4:2.

I suggest to have those two words (help Lord) ready and good relationship with God for emergencies.
