Editor, Times-Union:
For all Second Amendment supporters/defenders and outdoor enthusiasts in State House District 22, which includes parts of Kosciusko and Elkhart County: Republican candidate Curt Nisly has been endorsed by the National Rifle Association!
As you know, the Second Amendment to the Constitution states, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Republican candidate Curt Nisly has also been endorsed by the Gun Owners of America and by Sheriff Brad Rogers of Elkhart County. Republican candidate Curt Nisly has been clear that he believes your right to own a gun is undeniable.
Republican Curt Nisly’s opponent, Democrat David Kolbe, has also clearly shown his view on your right to own a gun. Speaking at a Warsaw candidate forum on April 16, 2014, Kolbe said, “If rated (by the Gun Owners of America) I would fail.” The Democrat candidate repeated his own claim that he would get a failing mark by the GOA in a letter to the Warsaw Times-Union dated April 25, 2014. In that same letter the Democrat candidate stated, “Birds of a feather flock together.” By his own admission he’d support his fellow Democrats, not you.
For voters in the 22nd District who want an absolute supporter of your Second Amendment rights, Republican Curt Nisly is the clear choice. For this election, the last day to register to vote is Oct. 6, with early voting beginning Oct. 7. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4. Please join me in voting wisely, choose Curt Nisly.
