SECTION 00100 NOTICE TO BIDDERS Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals will be received: BY: Warsaw Community Schools 1 Administration Drive Warsaw, IN 46581 FOR: Addition and Renovation Jefferson Elementary School Winona Lake, IN AT: Central Administration Building 1 Administration Drive Warsaw, Indiana 46581 UNTIL: 7:00 pm (EST), (Warsaw local time) DATE: Tuesday, January 27, 2009 At which time all proposals will be opened and publicly read aloud. Proposals received after the hour and date set for receiving of proposals, will be returned unopened. All work will be awarded under a General Contract for all work of all trades for each building. Proposals shall be executed on the Contractor's Bid for Public Works, Form No. 96 (Revised 2005), Parts I and II in full accordance with the Proposal Documents, which are on file with the owner and Architect and may be examined by Bidders at the following locations: Warsaw Community Schools Kovert Hawkins Architects, Inc. 1 Administration Drive 630 Walnut Street Warsaw, IN 46581 Jeffersonville, IN 47130 574-371-5098 812-282-9554 574-371-5095 fax 812-282-9171 fax General Contractors, and contractors of Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical and Sitework: may obtain a maximum of two (2) complete sets of drawings and specs upon receipt of deposit of $250.00 per set. Checks for deposit shall be sent to the reprographics company, but made payable to Kovert Hawkins Architects, Inc. Deposits will be fully refunded upon receipt of a valid bid and return of all documents in good, usable condition to Kovert Hawkins Architects within ten (10) business days after the bid date. All other subcontractors, suppliers, trades and bidders: may purchase drawings and specs directly from the reprographics company at cost of printing plus any shipping and handling charges. All bidders: may purchase additional drawings and/or specs directly from the reprographics company at cost of printing plus any shipping and handling charges. Distribution of all bid documents to all bidders will be from a single-source reprographics company. Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Proposal, including all add alternates must accompany each Proposal in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and to waive any irregularities in bidding. The Base Bid may be held for a period not to exceed Sixty (60) days before awarding Contracts. All additive Alternate Bids may be held for a period not to exceed Thirty (30) days after signing of Contract. Should a successful Bidder withdraw his bid, or fail to execute a satisfactory contract within ten (10) days after notice of acceptance of his bid, the Owner may declare the Bid Security forfeited as liquidated damages, not as penalty. The successful Bidder shall furnish a Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum with an approved surety company and said bond shall remain in full force and effect for a period of one (1) year after date of final acceptance of the work.
