North Webster Teen Charged with Jewel Theft

According to the probable cause affidavit provided by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, Trent Doran contacted Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department Sept. 6 because he believed a safe and its contents were stolen from his bedroom. The safe contained two diamond tennis bracelets valued at $2,500, a platinum diamond ring valued at $15,000, and opal birthstone ring valued at $200 and personal documents. Trent advised that his son Keagan, 18, of 1009 Ind. 114 East, North Manchester, allegedly stole the safe.
KCSD was contacted again Sept. 21. Trent stated he had observed Keagan’s girlfriend wearing one of the stolen rings. Officer Todd Sautter conducted an interview with Keagan at Trent’s residence.
Keagan admitted to Sautter that he stole the safe and its contents. He then returned the bracelets and the personal documents. He also returned three handguns he had stolen from his grandmother’s house. Keagan advised that he sold the two rings to a pawnshop for $100 and threw the safe off of the Eel River Bridge in North Manchester.
Keagan was arrested for theft and booked into Kosciusko County Jail on a $20,000 bond.[[In-content Ad]]
