North Webster Community Public Library Announces Events

NORTH WEBSTER - The North Webster Community Public Library has some big events coming up in the next few months.

Thursday, Soltré will perform at the library. They are an Irish musical group who performs traditional and contemporary music. This concert is free, so come to the library at 7 p.m. and enjoy.

April 4 is the library's fifth anniversary at its present location. Several events are planned for that date.[[In-content Ad]]The Friends of the Library will host a book sale in the library April 2-4. Refreshments will be served in the library all day on the fourth. A Mark Twain impersonator will be on hand that day as well at 10 a.m. This will be an opportunity for the community to stop in and see what their library has to offer. The library has quadrupled its circulation in the last five years.

On April 6, the Book Club will meet at 5:30 p.m. to discuss "The Shack". On April 11, there will be a book signing by Norma Roose.

On June 6, the library will host "Book It into Summer". This will be a fun-filled event for the entire family.

A 5K run and a 1mile walk/run are being planned. Sign up is necessary and details will follow. Pre-registration will be $12 and late registration will be $15. The first 100 entrees will receive a t-shirt. Soltré will perform again on this date, and a plant sale and bake sale will take place. There also will be games such as a basketball free-throw contest for the children. More will take place on this day, so look for details soon.

Do not forget to enter your nomination for the fall cemetery walk. Nominations must be submitted by March 31. Simply write a short essay describing the life of this person and why he/she should be honored. The only requirement is that the person must be buried in the North Webster Cemetery.
