NORTH MANCHESTER – Norma N. Slack, 85, of North Manchester, died at 12:20 a.m. July 13, 2012, in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.

She was born Aug. 19, 1926, in Claypool, to Ralph and Neva Jones Mattix. On Jan. 25, 1948, she married Russell M. Slack, who died June 14, 1980.

She was a homemaker and retired from Heckman Bindery in 1994. She attended First Brethren Church, North Manchester. She graduated from Burket High School in 1944. She enjoyed meeting with the Joyful Hearts group at her church and was a faithful supporter of 4-H.

Surviving are two sons, Bob (and spouse Deborah) Slack, Inverness, Ill., and Tom (and spouse Val) Slack, North Manchester; a brother, Bob Mattix, Claypool; a sister, Charlene (and spouse Conrad) Meinert, Warsaw; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor Kurt Stout officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
