COLUMBIA CITY - Norma L. Mauzy, 77, formerly of Allen County, died March 19, 2011, in Covington Manor, where she was a resident since October 2009.

She was born May 9, 1933, in Kosciusko County, to Lennel R. and Hazel Hunter Weimer. On April 5, 1952, she married Leonard E. Mauzy, who survives.

She graduated from North Webster High School. She lived in Kosciusko County until December 1958, when she moved to Allen County. She worked at Har-mar Seed Co., was secretary for the Kosciusko County superintendent for five years and retired in 1996 from Northwest Allen County School System with 22 years of service at Arcola School with the Chapter 1 program as a reading assistant. She was a member of Lake Chapel United Methodist Church and its Ladies Group and United Methodist Women of Lake Chapel.

Also surviving are two sons, Duke (and spouse Nancy) Mauzy and Daniel Mauzy, all of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a sister and three brothers.

Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
