Norma Joan Norton Weida, 80, of 9 Armadilla Trail, Lake Placid, Fla., came home to go home at 3:50 p.m. Sept. 15, 2012, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

She was born Sept. 13, 1932, in Mentone, to Alonzo Blue and Susan Decker Speicher. On Oct. 15, 1993, she married Beecher Weida, who survives.

Living most of her life in Kosciusko County, she was a homemaker and a seamstress. She retired to Florida 14 years ago and was a member of the Church of God in Lake Placid and Akron. She made friends wherever she happened to be, and was a kind hearted and loving person.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Beecher Weida, Lake Placid; two daughters, Susan (and spouse John) VanCuren, Mentone, and Glenna (and spouse Dennis) Blue, Warsaw; three sons: Charles Thomas Norton, Lake Placid; Mike (and spouse Laura) Norton, Claypool; Steven (and spouse Tamra) Norton,  Mentone; a stepdaughter, Joanne (and spouse Wayne) Hansen, Wabash; and a stepson, John (and spouse Crystal) Weida, Akron; 17 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two granddaughters.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with Pastor William Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery.

Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
