She was born Jan. 13, 1933, in Huntington, to Archie and Elizabeth Pfister Young. On June 6, 1953, she married James E. Holzinger, who survives in Huntington.
She was a 1951 graduate of Huntington Catholic High School and a graduate of Warner Beauty College. She was a lifetime beautician, and retired after owning and operating Holzinger Beauty Salon.
She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, a life member of the VFW Auxiliary, Huntington Art Guild and Three Rivers Decorative Painters.
Also surviving are a son, Thomas E. (and spouse Pamela) Holzinger, Roanoke; a daughter, Sue J. (and spouse Steve) Ward, North Webster; two brothers, Martin (and spouse Jackie) and James (and spouse Joyce) Young, all of Huntington; two sisters, Carol Grove, Huntington, and Janet (and spouse Johan) Brongers, Amherst, Mass.; five grandchildren: Nick, Craig (and spouse Emily) and Parker Holzinger; Ashley Ward; and Nicole (and spouse Trent) Nabinger; and three great-grandchildren: Jaxon and Colton Nabinger and Lilia Holzinger. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry St., Huntington, with Fr. Ron Rieder, OFM Cap, officiating. Burial is in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
