Nondus Louise Creakbaum, 81, of Warsaw, died at 9:45 a.m. April 10, 2010, in Rivercrest Specialty Hospital, Mishawaka.

She was born Feb. 6, 1929, in Akron, to Russell Gale and Edna Faye Fitton Barber. On Aug. 24, 1946, in Akron, she married Don "Creeky" Creakbaum, who died Dec. 13, 2004.

Living most of her life in Warsaw, she worked in quality control at DePuy for 30 years, retiring in 1992. She was past president of American Legion Auxiliary Post 49, and held several second district offices of American Legion. She was past senior regent of Moose Lodge; past worthy matron of Order of the Eastern Star; a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 49; and past president of Local 809 and LaFane.

Surviving are four daughters: Donna (and spouse Michael) Wendt, Wabash; Dianna "Dee" Goans, Nappanee; Darlene (and spouse Roger) Gareiss, Charlotte, Mich.; and Dixie (and spouse Felix) Espinoza, Warsaw; a sister, Susie (and spouse Larry) Jackson, Warsaw; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Jack, Dale and Albert Barber; a sister, Esther Biddleman; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Chaplain Thomas Everett, Chaplain of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 49, Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
