In response to the NRA endorsement, Nisly stated, “I am so grateful for this endorsement. Our right to bear arms is our most basic human right; all of our other rights stem from this right. As I have talked to voters all around the 22nd District, it is clear that this is one issue that many people are passionate about. I will work tirelessly in Indianapolis to make sure our 2nd amendment rights are protected.”
The NRA Political Victory Fund is the NRA’s political action committee that ranks political candidates irrespective of party affiliation based on voting records, public statements and their responses to the NRA-PVF questionnaire. (www.nrapvf.org)
According to their website, Nisly was given an endorsement with an “NRA Endorsed AQ,” which stated he is a pro-gun candidate whose rating is based solely on the candidate's response to the NRA-PVF candidate questionnaire and who does not have a voting record on Second Amendment issues.
Nisly is the Republican nominee for District 22 State Representative, and is opposed by Democrat David Kolbe and Independent Michael Stinfer.
