Nine Vie For 4-H Queen, King Titles

Contestants had interviews with judges Thursday and the winners will be announced before the fair.
Queen contestants:
Ashley Helfers is the daughter of Jeff and Michelle Helfers, Leesburg. She is a seven-year member of the Milford Helping Hands and Junior Leaders 4-H clubs, where she has held the offices of treasurer and recreational leader. She has taken 4-H projects including needlecraft, poultry, crafts and dairy foods. She recently completed her junior year at Wawasee High School and she plans to major in communication science at Purdue University.
Kristin Quick is the daughter of Jill Landrigan and the late Sean Quick, Warsaw. She is a 10-year member of the Pierceton Hayseeds 4-H club and junior leaders, where she has held offices of president, secretary, health and safety and recreation leader. Her 4-H projects include dairy, dairy steer and dairy calf feeder steer. She is a 2013 graduate of Warsaw Community High School and plans to major in biochemistry at Purdue.
Victoria Fulton is the daughter of Dan and Angela Fulton, Warsaw. She is a nine-year 4-H member and has held offices of rabbit club reporter and secretary. Her 4-H projects include junior leaders, swine, rabbits, cake decorating and photography. She recently completed her junior year at WCHS and she plans to study psychology in college.
Hannah Tucker is the daughter of Steve and Valerie Tucker, Milford. She is an eight-year member of Milford Successful 4-Hers Club, where offices she has held include president, vice president and secretary. Her 4-H projects include beef, swine, shooting sports and veterinary science. She is homeschooled and recently completed her sophomore year, and she plans to either study agriculture management or agriculture education at Purdue or to pursue collegiate livestock judging.
Kiara Hackworth is the daughter of Lora Hackworth, Warsaw. She is a six-year 4-H member and will be a junior at Tippecanoe Valley High School this fall. She is a member of the Atwood Neverquitters and Kosciusko County 4-H Leaders Club. She has held the offices of secretary, treasurer, vice president and 4-H Council representative. Her projects include woodworking, consumer science, goats and gift wrapping.

Cody Demske is the son of Mark and Lisa Demske, Claypool. He is a seven-year member of Beaver Dam 4-H Club and Junior Leaders, where he holds the office of vice president. His 4-H projects include shooting sports, goats, Lego® and woodworking. He recently finished his sophomore year at TVHS and plans to study pre-veterinary science at Grace College then veterinary medicine at Purdue.
Chris Baker is the son of Andrea Baker, Pierceton. He is a seven-year member of the Pierceton Hayseeds 4-H Club, where he has held the office of treasurer. His 4-H projects include dairy calf feeder steers, poultry, swine and electric. He recently completed his junior year at Whitko High School and plans to attend the University of Northwestern Ohio.
Jake Templin is the son of Terry and Karen Templin, Leesburg. He is a nine-year member of the Milford Helping Hands 4-H Club, where he has held the office of vice president. His 4-H projects include beef, dairy beef, dairy calf feeder steer and swine. He recently completed his junior year at WHS and plans to study agri-business or animal science.
Michal Meeker is the son of Kathy and Lyle Meeker, Warsaw. He is a six-year 4-H member, a member of the Kosciusko County 4-H Junior Leaders Club, and just graduated from WHS. His projects include electric, poultry, model crafts and microwave cooking.[[In-content Ad]]
