She was born June 21, 1924, in Kokomo, to Zera Madison and Ada Mabel Fulford White. On Sept. 12, 1942, in Peru, she married Walter E. “Sam” Kessler, who preceded her in death March 14, 2001.
She was the reference clerk at the Kokomo Public Library before retiring in June 1986. She was the oldest active member of First Christian Church and she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting.
Surviving are her children: Konnie (and spouse Joe) Streeter, Warsaw; Sandra S. (and spouse Michael) Daily and Pamela Lamberson, all of Kokomo; Lawrence Kessler, Avon Park, Fla.; Kathy (and spouse James) Vega, Russiaville; grandchildren: Robert (and spouse Jeni) Streeter, Michelle (and spouse Al) Dials, Krista Streeter-Burns (and spouse Ron Burns), all of Warsaw; Lynn (and spouse Brian) Henry and Ryan and Walt Kessler, all of Galveston; Rafael (and spouse Lindsay) Vega and Rochelle Vega (and Bryan Riggle), all of Indianapolis; Jeffrey Lamberson, Flora; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, four sisters and two grandsons, Mathew Streeter and Brad Daily.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church, 854 N. CR 300W, Kokomo, with Pastor Will Jewsberry officiating. Burial will follow at Crown Point Cemetery.
Calling is from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the church.
