I read Gary Gerard's "News Views" on Saturday. The first time I read it, it made me mad. I sat and read it again and I understood exactly what he was saying.

Gary is right on track, people, we need to change and change fast. I wrote a letter last week and was told that I had changed to a Democrat. Again, I say I'm not a Democrat or Republican, but want what is right for me and you, and every single one of us here in this great land. We all look at things that happen or don't happen in this country through Republican or Democrat eyes as if it's a ball game for one side or the other to lose.

My guess is if we continue on this way of thinking we all will lose. Here again it all boils down to the almighty dollar. No one likes change but I think John F. Kennedy said it best when he said, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."

Now I know I just quoted a Democrat, but I think the way it's looking at the time, it might just be a good question for all of us to ask ourselves instead of setting back and pointing fingers at each other, which I know I'm guilty of.

Maybe next election the best thing we could do is vote all 555 of the men and women who run this great land out of office (yes, 555 people run this for all of us). Maybe what we need is to find 555 men and women who care enough about our country to save her instead of putting the almighty dollar in their back pocket.

One thing's for sure, if we don't stop playing the win-or-lose game of politics we are all going to be hurting.

Good work, Gary, one of the best news views you have written.

I will explain the 555 now: 100 senators, 435 congressman, one president and nine supreme court justices.
