WINONA LAKE – March Madness is fast approaching Grace College in the form of the NCCAA National Basketball Men’s and Women’s Championships.
The two national tournaments will be hosted simultaneously at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center from March 18-21, featuring 24 games in four days. The whirlwind of basketball action brings 16 college basketball teams from across the country to Winona Lake.
“We are blessed to once again host both the men's and women's NCCAA Basketball Championships at Grace College,” said Grace Athletic Director Chad Briscoe. “We appreciate all the support from our local sponsors and the impact this tournament has on our community. We look forward to all the participating teams experiencing March Madness in Kosciusko County.”
The teams will spread throughout Kosciusko County on March 17 for a community service project. The student-athletes and coaches will serve at different locations in the community, including 10 schools, two retirement centers, Salvation Army, Combined Community Services, Kiddie Kollege and Heartline Pregnancy Center.
The national tournament banquet will be held on the evening of March 17. The speaker will be former NCAA Div. I men’s basketball coach Dave Bliss, who is releasing his new autobiography “Fall to Grace.” Tickets to the banquet are still available to the general public by calling Grace’s athletic office at (574) 372-5100 ext. 6266.
Tournament action will get underway on March. A four-day pass to the tournament is $30. A one-day pass can be purchased for $10, and discounts for students and children are available. Call Grace’s athletic office to pre-order your tickets.
Grace’s women’s team has already secured its place in the field. The Lancers’ men’s team can also play in the tournament if they do not advance to the national semifinals of the NAIA National Championships in Branson, Mo.[[In-content Ad]]
