Navona Brown, 65, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 5:24 p.m. Aug. 8, 2011, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was born in Harlan, Ky., to Eugene and Flora Daniels Rice. On Dec. 2, 1976, in Warsaw, she married George F. Brown, who survives.

A Warsaw resident for the past 35 years, she is remembered by family as a wonderful loving mother and wife. She retired from Kosciusko Community Hospital in 1998, after working in the communications department.

Also surviving are two daughters, Leveda (and spouse Sam) Bird, Bourbon, and Cheryl Yevette Hartman, Warsaw; a son, Jason Ray Brown, Warsaw;  five grandchildren, Carissa Long, Lonnie Dillon and Alisha, Russel and Mason Bird; a brother, Jerry Rice, Pathfork, Ky.; and a sister, Brenda Rice Craig, Pathfork. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Don Roulo officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
