National Library Week Events At WCPL

The Warsaw Community Public Library has planned events for both children and adults all week long.
There is a book sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 15.
Free popcorn will be handed out daily between 2 to 4 p.m.
Activity stations will include:
• Library Information Booth – Learn about the many services provided by WCPL.
• Coloring Activity Booth – Kids and adults can create fun and beautiful works of art at the coloring booth. Pages, crayons and colored pencils will be provided. Take your masterpiece home, or donate your art for the library’s wall of fame.
• Nature Space and Tree Giveaway – Earth Day is right around the corner. Celebrate and help protect the planet by taking a free tree home and planting it.
• Children's Bookmark Creation Station – All the art supplies you need to make a fun and functional reading tool.
• Butterfly Craft – Create a beautiful butterfly using cupcake papers and clothespins.
• Family Tree Maker Space – Use library genealogy resources to start working on or complete your family tree. Ancestry.com, HeritageQuest.com and more are available free at the library.
• Poetry Corner – Learn more about the library's selection of poetry books, and share some of your own writing on the poetry wall.
Contests will include:
• Check out the WCPL’s Facebook page during the week to share your favorite book and enter a drawing sponsored by the administration department.
• Turn in your book sale receipt stub Friday for a chance to win a library give away basket sponsored by the cataloging department.
• Play a movie quote match-up game for a chance to win a contest sponsored by the circulation department. If you think you know your movie quotes, try playing this game in the adult or children version.
• Children’s services will be running a Beverly Cleary contest for kids. Answer questions using the library PAC for a chance to win Beverly Cleary books.
• Complete an online scavenger hunt of the library website and/or a scavenger hunt inside the library. A Kindle Fire will be given away in drawings for each scavenger hunt from the information services department.
Special programs will include:
• Planning Your Spring Garden, Tuesday, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Register.
• Make it Take it Crafts: Book Clock, Wednesday, 2 to 4 p.m. Register.
• Movie Day showing “The Secret Garden,” April 14, 4 to 5:45 p.m. All ages are welcome.
