NORTH MANCHESTER - Nancy Pennington, 54, of North Manchester, died at 3:21 p.m. Aug. 3, 2008, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was born March 3, 1954, in Salyersville, Ky., to Fred and Myrtle Manns Conley. She married Jerry Pennington, who survives.

Since 2007, she cared for children in her home. Earlier she worked at Manchester Metals, Dollar General, BKB, United Technologies and in the kitchen at Peabody Retirement Community and Miller's Merry Manor.

Also surviving are two sons, Jeffrey Pennington, Mishawaka, and Chris (and spouse Jami) Pennington, Fort Wayne; two daughters, Jessica (and spouse Rafael) Diaz, North Manchester, and Cathy (and spouse Brian) Mabry, Temple, Texas; four brothers: the Rev. Amos (and spouse Eloise) Conley, Tennessee; Norman (and spouse Shirley) Conley, Chickamauga, Ga.; Alfred (and spouse Sherry) Conley, Akron; and Jerry Conley, North Manchester; six sisters: Zefie Jackson, Gracie Jackson and Christene (and spouse Bill) Cornell, all of Akron; Martha (and spouse Ray) Hancock and Lorene Tesh, all of North Manchester; and Izania (and spouse Bruce) Thorington, Peru; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son and a sister.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Gaerte Cemetery, Akron.

Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
