She was born Feb. 27, 1937, in Middlebury, to Franklin and Florence Plank Mishler. On Aug. 24, 1957, she married Ledford Benton, who survives.
She was director and preschool teacher at Sycamore Preschool for 20 years. She was a member of First Brethren Church, North Manchester, where she sang in the choir and played in the bell choir. She graduated from Middlebury High School and earned an associate’s degree in business from Manchester College.
Surviving are three sons: Mike (and spouse Tori) Benton, Middlebury; Barry Benton, Garrett; and Mark (and spouse Kelly) Benton, North Manchester; a daughter, Jeri (and spouse Dave) Lehman, North Manchester; a sister, Judy (and spouse Jack) Kortie, Middlebury; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with the Rev. Kurt Stout officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
Calling is from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
