Mud Slinging

Editor, Times-Union:

Why is it when Governor Daniels is in town, there is never anything told several days in advance about when and where he will be in our city so that people can approach him to ask questions and make comments?

And if these politicians are as good as they keep advertising they are, won't their record stand for itself, negating the need to spend the millions and millions on all these political ads which mostly do nothing but sling mud? Just brainstorm sometime about all the good things that could be done for our country and those American citizens living in poverty or retired and unable to make ends meet. What have we done to our own people?

It is no wonder people do not want to go to the polls and vote anymore. I am sick of hearing it. The news media only contributes to the politicians' frenzy on slinging mud because each TV station or radio station or newspaper wants to be the first to get all the dirt on this candidate or that one. What happened to reporting good news? When did we quit reporting positive news? Do you have any realization what things like this have done to our children or the minds of the little ones just know forming their personalities? It is a real sickening thing. Do you ever stop to think how you are glorifying bad things?

You are making yourselves a part of the problems this country faces instead of being a part of the solution. Is it possible you will ever clean up your acts?
