More on Status Quo

I feel that I must explain myself as to what I mean by “The status quo has got to go.”

I am as guilty as anyone of sitting on the sidelines while our elected officials spent our money, while I have added little or no input. I feel we must all look deeper into what we are doing in the city, county, state and federal governments. We have allowed for far too long a handful of them to take us into the future, and it looks pretty bleak. We are losing the value of our hard-earned dollars daily. We all need to take a look at where we are going to be in the next few years or months if this continues.

Many economists predict a second wave in our recession to hit in the next few months or this next year at the latest. The two wars we are fighting and have been for the last 10 years combined with the over-inflated housing market are the two greatest factors for how we got here. Also, entitlement programs, giving money to kids that have kids and covering all of their medical is another thing that will soon bankrupt us.

The Federal Reserve is printing so much money it is devaluing our saving at an alarming rate. So far I have only heard a few candidates with ideas on curtailing our problems.

They used to say two minds are better than one, but in Washington as well as locally we have been refusing to look at the other side and their Ideas. If we can’t put down the ax and work together we won’t have a country.

I have friends that say I hate Democrats. I have friends that say they hate Republicans. Really? Do you hate them? I don’t ... I hear some of what they are both saying and I agree with some of it. I don’t disagree with most people all the time. I listen to them and try to find common ground. So when I say status quo I mean business as usual and it includes all of us. If you don’t want to get involved at least listen ask questions and vote for the one who sounds most like your idea of a good representative. Then follow them and keep them to their words and promises.

I want to thank all the people that do serve us in our churches, organizations that help us all and all government offices. Without you people we would be in a bigger mess. Somebody has got to fly the plane. I’m glad you stepped up even if I don’t agree with you all the time.

I want you to know if I ever insulted any of you, I did not mean to. Please keep in mind when we stand up to help, give us the respect we deserve. Maybe it’s our turn to fly. This is our country yours and mine and we need to push up the levels of our involvement to keep it. God Bless the USA and freedom of speech.
