By Thursday night, the site and conceptual drawings were being shared on Facebook.
According to a statement on the website, “Moake Park Group Inc. is very excited to announce that we have been selected for the architectural design and planning for an addition and renovations to the Wagon Wheel Theatre in Warsaw. This exciting project will incorporate many new spaces for the community and will transform the Wagon Wheel Theatre into a new Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts. We are very grateful to be selected and we are excited to be working with such a great group of people.”
Asked about the renderings, Wagon Wheel Executive Director Will Dawson released the following statement this morning: “We have developed a long range plan which includes a new vision for our facilities. Moake Park Group has been great through this process and we feel when the day comes we will have a venue in which our town will be extremely pleased. Aside from entertainment our goal is to continue expanding arts education in our community.”
In January 2012, the Center, formerly known as the Wagon Wheel Theatre, became a non-profit.
On Nov. 3 this year, the theater announced its name change to Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts. It also announced a new logo, a new vision and Dawson as the new executive director.
Along with the professional theater, the Center includes Wagon Wheel Junior, Symphony of the Lakes, Center Street Community Theatre, the Wagon Wheel Art Gallery, Wagon Wheel Art Museum and the Wagon Wheel Youth Art Appreciation Program.
