Erwin "Pete" and Clara Mitchell, Columbia City, will mark their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 2. Pete Mitchell and Clara Anderson were married Nov. 2, 1957, in the Church of the Nazarene, Columbia City.

He worked for Holmes Lumber Co. for 20 years and Whitko Community School Corp. for 24 years. He is retired and currently is serving his second term on the Whitko School Board of Trustees as president. She worked for General Telephone for five years; Sears Catalog for three years; Ferromagnetics for four years; WFDT for three years; Whitley Medical Associates for seven years; Dr. Timothy Chamberlain for 13 years and currently works at Smith and Sons Funeral Home as a greeter.

They have one daughter, Mrs. Tom (Pam) Kessie, South Whitley. They have two grandsons.

The couple will celebrate the anniversary with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Coach Room at 207 N. Main St., Columbia City. The couple request no gifts.[[In-content Ad]]
