Mitch Daniels

I am surprised that there hasn't been any more comments of the reign of Mitch Daniels so I will attempt to point out a few facts.
Year one: In an independent study performed by economics professor Matthew Kotchen of the University of California and published in Wall Street Journal of the effect of mandatory daylight-saving time in Indiana, he found that we are spending $13.6 million more in energy and pollution costs. So whether you love flipping your clocks back and forth every few months or hate it, the result is, we all pay. Mitch set Indiana's clock back 40 years back in time with that decision.
Year two: On the toll road issue, what Mitch sold was a lifetime lease on northern Indiana. Now that is true vision knowing what Indiana's needs will be 75 years into the future. But I guess we can do what California did by buying the lease back from this same group at twice the price. Result: Goldman Sachs was paid $100 million for doing the paper work on this deal.
Year three: Mitch increased taxes by $140 million.
Year four: Mitch increased taxes by $620 million, which will automatically increase to $1 billion in 2009.
Mitch's crowning achievement, cutting a few minutes off the wait time at the BMV, doesn't consider the extra time to find one he hasn't closed.
The 1, 2, 3 plan was another shell game. While providing temporary relief for homeowners (they will be higher next year), he increased it on rental property, farms and businesses which are already at a disadvantage because of the tax abatements he has given to foreign-owned companies.
Mitch likes to brag he is from the business world. After four years as governor, I can understand why they wanted him to leave. Mitch was Bush's budget director who took a surplus and ran it to largest deficit in U.S. history.
To top it all off, we have no representation, we have people like Dave Wolkins and Bill Ruppel who have been feeding off the public for decades. They sold their votes when Mitch doubled their salary.
Committee, Republicans against Mitch Daniels.
