Mishler-Eastlund Starts Contribution Program

With the state of the local economy, Mishler-Eastlund feels that if they contribute to local businesses and organizations, it may encourage others to do the same.[[In-content Ad]]For every dollar Mishler-Eastlund pays in state sales tax, they will contribute a dollar to a local registered corporation or organization.
"We have one of the highest unemployment rates in the state and our local economy is stagnant," said Ryan Mishler. "There is not going to be any assistance from the federal government, so the only way the local economy is going to move forward is if we take charge and do it ourselves.
"The hope is that other businesses will do something similar and the community will begin to thrive," Mishler said. "I have had many residents contact me regarding our local situation. I was told recently that I have to be the one to get the ball rolling to help our economy, that it should start with me. Taking that comment to heart, I have been working on several ideas, but through research, this is something I thought might start things moving. I have always said that the leaders in a community are the business owners, so with that said, it is the business owners who are going to have to step up in some way."
Mishler-Eastlund also will offer something directly to the consumer. In a statement released by the funeral home, they said they were able to negotiate with vendors, who annually raise prices, to lower prices through the end of the year.
