She was born July 18, 1922, in Kosciusko County, to Charles E. and Zelda M. Riggle White. On Dec. 7, 1941, in Akron, she married James J. Ellison, who died Nov. 16, 1994.
She worked for the restaurant that she and her husband owned; Delco Remy, Anderson; and Indiana Metal in the earlier years. Then she worked for Chamberlin Products, Akron, where she retired. She graduated from Beaver Dam in 1940. She was a member of Olive Bethel Church of God, where she taught Sunday school and enjoyed helping in many capacities including being secretary and treasurer for many years. She also enjoyed baking.
Surviving are a son, Charles F. Ellison, Akron; a special cousin, Devona E. White (and spouse Tim) Kindig, Fort Wayne; a grandson, Austin Kindig, Fort Wayne; a sister-in-law, Betty Stevens, Middlebury, Fla.; and a niece, Carolyn Metheny, Middlebury, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Cheryl Ellison.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Olive Bethel Church of God, Akron, with Pastor Don Funk officiating. Burial will be in Nichols Cemetery, Akron.
Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron.
