Miller, Light Honored By Warsaw Chamber

WRSW general manager Patrick Brown made the presentations.

The yearly meeting allows the chamber to recognize industries, businesses and individuals for their contributions to the county, the country and, in some cases, the world.

Norm and Dorothy Snyder, owners of The Party Shop, Warsaw, were presented the Dimensions of Excellence Business Award by Charlie Smith of Lake City Bank. Accompanying the Snyders were David Hamrick and Cornell Vlot.

Kaleidoscope Interiors and Courthouse Coffee's surprised owners, Dave and Paula Bowman, were given the Entrepreneur Award by Shawn Patterson of Farmers State Bank.

Cecil and Doris Paulus, North Webster, were given the Small Industry Award for their business, Paulus Plastics, by Dennis Beville of National City Bank.

The Large Industry Award was accepted by Gary Young, vice president of finance of Da-Lite Screen, based in Warsaw. Andy Lewis of Key Bank presented the award.

Kosciusko County Highway Superintendent and Engineer Rob Ladson was given the Government Excellence Award by Jean Northenor of Lake City Bank.

Jo Lemon received the 2000 Athena Award from Barbara Dombkowski of Petro Brothers.

The Chamber honored its own, Tracy Benzinger, of Needhams Business Machines, as their Ambassador of the Year. Susan Derr of Q101 presented the honor.

The record crowd of more than 350 people heard comments from Chamber President Joy McCarthy-Sessing and from Kosciusko Development Inc.'s 2000 Chairman Julia Van De Water.

Outgoing Chamber of Commerce Chairman Darlleen Shepherd introduced 2001 Chairman Jon Ganyard of R.R. Donnelley & Sons. Named vice chairmen were John Warren, National City Bank; Yolanda Garza Hedington, Key Bank; Sterling Watkins, Bertsch Services; Clint Pletcher, Lake City Bank; and Randy Ruppel, Paragon Medical.

Named to the board of directors were Mitch Goon, Farmers State Bank; Jane Greene, Cardinal Center; Jack Heeter, Biomet Inc.; Scott Helt, Kosciusko Community Hospital; Susan Hite, CTB Inc.; and Bruce Shaffner, Ramada Plaza.

They join Larry Easterday, Kosciusko County REMC; Jack Birch, Beckman-Lawson LLP; John Boal, Grace College; Max Courtney, Mutual Federal Savings Bank; Mary Gerard, Dekko Heating Technologies; Kevin Harney, Dana Corp.; Michael Harstine, SYM Financial; Yolanda Garza Hedington, Key Bank; Randy Ruppel, Paragon Medical; Bob Sanders, Bodkin Abstract Co.; Darryl Smith, Dalton Corp.; Don Tosby, Medtronic Sofamor Danek; and Sterling Watkins, Bertsch Services.
