By Staff Report-
According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department press release, KCSD deputies responded Thursday to the Kosciusko Community Hospital after officials reported a male subject, who had an active warrant out for him, on the hospital’s premises.
Officers met with Gage Michael Wood, 21, Milford, who initially advised officers of a fictitious name, reportedly attempting to use his brother’s identity. Deputies also discovered that Wood had finished methamphetamine in his possession.
Wood allegedly had been involved in a Jan. 31 incident in the 12,000 block of Raggedy Ann Road, Cromwell. On that night, Woods had entered into another individual’s residence and began a verbal altercation with the homeowner. The argument turned violent, and Wood allegedly used a baseball bat to strike the victim. Deputies were notified after the incident, and did observe multiple injuries to the victim’s shoulder, stomach, and facial area, consistent with the shape and size of a ball bat.
Wood was arrested and preliminarily charged with felony battery with a deadly weapon, possession of methamphetamine and false informing. He is currently being held on a $102,000 bond in the Kosciusko County Jail.
