MILFORD -ÊBy a vote of two to one, Milford Town Council members voted Tuesday to increase their own salary from $2,000 per year to $2,500 per year in 2000.
Councilman Donald Wolferman voted against the increase.
Town employee wages will be increased 4 percent. Two percent of the increase will go to wages while the other 2 percent will go to the employees' Indiana Deferred Compensation Plan for retirement.
Milford's total budget for 2000 will be $725,047, down $11,000 from the 1999 budget.
Clerk-treasurer Charlotte Siegfried will advertise the budget at the end of August. A public hearing on the budget will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 30. Before the Sept. 13 regular town council meeting, a special meeting will be called to adopt the budget. Once adopted by the town council, the budget will be taken to the county auditor, who will submit it to the state, and a final hearing will be held late this year. [[In-content Ad]]
