NAPPANEE - Mildred O. Jones, 94, formerly of Nappanee, died at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 15, 2008, in George Davis Manor, West Lafayette, where she resided.

She was born Jan. 3, 1914, in South Bend, to Edward F. and Ethel Dodd Walterhouse. On Oct. 24, 1931, in Marshall County, she married Russell Jones, who died Sept. 16, 2007.

Living most of her life in the Nappanee area, she lived in Delphi from 1950-76, and moved to West Lafayette last year. She was a lab technician for Dr. Johnson & Cole, Lafayette, from 1957-65. She retired from the Delphi High School cafeteria in 1976. She attended Living Gospel Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Joan E. (and spouse Robert) Cassell, West Lafayette, and Judy A. (and spouse Lonnie) Miller, Lafayette; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and four sisters: Jessie Price, Bremen; Esther Wagoner and Marion Tharp, both of Plymouth; and Ruth Fox, Wakarusa. She was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and a sister.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Rev. Mike Raasch officiating. Burial will be in Bremen Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
