NEW CASTLE – Mildred Mundy, 95, of Warsaw, and formerly of New Castle, died Sept. 4, 2011, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.

She was born Nov. 16, 1915, in New Caste, to Milton and Mary Jane Over. In October 1932, in New Castle, she married Robert Mundy, who died in July 1965.

She lived in New Castle for 57 years before moving to Lafayette in 1972, where she lived until 2003, then relocated to Warsaw. She attended New Castle High School and worked at various times in retail sales and was a cook in public school and Purdue University. She was a member of First Church of God, New Castle, and later Kossuth Street Baptist Church, Lafayette.

Surviving are three sons, Robert (and spouse Margaret) Mundy, Fort Wayne; Richard (and spouse Betsy) Mundy, New Paris; and Steven (and spouse Judy) Mundy, Columbia City; nine grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters and a brother.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Main & Davis Funeral Home, New Castle, with the Rev. Ronald Mundy officiating. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery.

Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
