Mildred Cronkhite, 86, Warsaw, died at 11:48 p.m. Nov. 25, 2013, in Grace Village Health Care, Warsaw.
She was born Oct. 21, 1927, in Warsaw, to Ernest E. and Ethel Watkins Unruh. In Versailles, she married Leo Cronkhite, who survives.
She was a lifetime resident of Warsaw. She worked as a telephone operator with Embarq (aka United and Sprint) for 40 years, retiring in 2007. She was a member of North Winona Church of the Brethren, Warsaw.
Also surviving are a son, James L. (and spouse Barbara Jo) Cronkhite, Athens, Ala.; a brother, Frank (and spouse Violet) Unruh, Warsaw; and a sister, Evelyn Long, Etna Green. She was preceded in death by her father who died March 27, 1985, and her mother, who died Aug. 15, 1983.
Private services will be held with the Rev. Michael Smith, North Winona Church of the Brethren, officiating. Burial will be Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
No calling is planned.
