He was born Dec. 1, 1930, in Newcastle Township, Fulton County, to Devon and Lena Mollenhour Eaton. On June 13, 1951, in Denver, Colo., he married the girl of his dreams, Patricia Ballenger, who survives in Warsaw.
He was employed by Dean Foods Co. for over 37 years, which took his family to four different states. He spent the last 23 years in Rockford, Ill., as project engineer.
He was a 1948 graduate of Talma High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955, spending time in Germany. He was honorably discharged as staff sergeant. He attended the Pleasant View Bible Church of Warsaw and previously attended the Riverview Community Church. In his retirement he enjoyed restoring old farm tractors on their farm near Mentone. He belonged to the Echoes of the Past Antique Tractor Club.
Also surviving are a son, Kevin (and spouse Debra) Eaton, Texas; three grandchildren: Joshua, Tricia and Jeramy; a brother, Jerry (and spouse Barbara) Eaton, Rochester; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Diana Nellans, Fort Myers, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carol Crawford; and a son, Kim Eaton, who died Dec. 27, 2006.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Rod Ruberg officiating. Burial is in Mentone Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
