Michael "Mick" Dittmar, 62, beloved husband, father, "papa," son, brother and friend, passed away July 24, 2010, in his residence after a courageous three-year battle with kidney cancer.

He was born July 24, 1948, in Benton Harbor, Mich., to Carl G. and Isabelle Rose Robbins Dittmar. On Sept. 11, 1971, in Clinton, Mass., he married Honor Ellin Hutchinson, who survives.

He was district operations specialist at AGCO Corp., Duluth, Ga., until July 2009, and had held various positions with the company during his 33 years of service. He was a graduate of Niles Community High School in 1966, and Indiana University in 1976. He served in the U.S. Army (security agency) from 1968-71.

Also surviving are his children, Deon M. (and spouse Teresa) Dittmar, Warsaw, and Jennifer E. (and spouse Ben) Murray, Avon; two granddaughters, Bailey E. Parisi and Isabelle D. Dittmar, Warsaw; a grandson, Cameron M. Murray, Avon; his mother, Isabelle Rose Dittmar, Niles; two brothers, Carl L. Dittmar and Scott D. (and spouse Lorie) Dittmar, Niles; two sisters, Inga (and spouse Thomas) Wright, Niles, and Robin (and spouse Donald) Pritchard, Buchanan, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.

No services or calling are planned.

A celebration of life will begin at noon Sunday at the family home at 2905 S. Ferguson Road, Warsaw.

McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
