I had planned on taking a little time off after this most recent election; yet, circumstances by some people who are upset with the results are upset at me. Sadly, since they do not like the message, they try to attack the messenger.

Shirey, shame on me? First Amendment, shame on you! President Obama is a liar. There I said it.

Now, Janet, I need to ask if you are writing to me, my mom, Mrs. Eppenbaugh (who has never written to the paper), or my dad, Mr. Eppenbaugh (who also has never written to the paper). I need a clarification - without blaming bad editing. First of all, my diet is not leaves and bark, McDonald's can vouch for that. So my diet is fine, at least until the federal government bans the consumption of cheeseburgers.

Secondly, I actually did read your letter from April claiming that President Obama is not a liberal because he extended the Patriot Act. Now I ask if he would have introduced it and not President Bush, would you have supported it? If so, you are a hypocrite. If not, you should look at the bright side, "if" President Obama seizes total power in the U.S., I will be definitely going to some rehabilitation camp and be forced to surrender my life for the security of the state.

You're saying that I am not in favor of government regulation? Now you're just putting your thoughts about me onto paper. I am against over-regulation. Those health inspection reports that are published in the paper are done by the Kosciusko County Health Department, and not the Food and Drug Administration. You are saying that the deregulation of Wall Street caused the near collapse of the economy, then how come the Financial Regulation bill recently passed ushered a tidal wave of economic growth? You are saying that deregulation of the oil companies caused the BP oil disaster, then how come Obama's ban on offshore drilling is causing us to pay nearly $3 dollars a gallon for gasoline while giving Mexico a billion dollars to drill in our Gulf? Granted Obama lifted the ban, so the prices might come down - unless the value of our dollar continues to slide - thanks to Obama's policies.

You are worried about me having my job outsourced to Bangladesh because they make lower wages. I work at a supermarket, so I am fairly sure our company will not move to save money because customers will not want to pay $1,200 and fly almost 9,000 miles for bread. I also work for the schools, so parents will not travel 9,000 miles to drop their students off. So I bet my jobs are fairly safe. However, if I lose either job, the Obama stimulus bill created millions of jobs, and if none of them offer health insurance, I can rely on Obamacare to give me money to help me by government-approved insurance.

Last thing, Janet, if your kids or your grandkids step in my yard, I'll spank them and send them home, just don't sue me.
