He was born July 3, 1923, in Kennard, to Carl and Helen Presser Carmichael. In October 1942, in Sulphur Springs, he married Clara B. Weintraut, who survives.
Originally from New Castle, he moved to Warsaw from Sebring, Fla., three years ago. He was a tool & dye inspector at Chrysler for 30 years, retiring in 1977. He was a World War II U.S. Marine Corp veteran, honorably discharged Nov. 8, 1945, from Cherry Point, N.C. He was a member of Whispering Pines Baptist Church, Sebring.
Also surviving are two sons, Ron (and spouse Dianne) Carmichael, Leesburg, and Jeff (and spouse Sherry) Carmichael, Los Almos, N.M.; three grandchildren, Kimberly (and spouse David) Schmel and Christy Eash, both of Ogden Dunes, and Tia Carmichael, Los Almos; five great-grandsons; and three brothers: Ernie (and spouse Mary Jane) Carmichael, Clear Water, Fla.; Larry (and spouse Sue Ellen) Carmichael, Hinton, W.Va.; and Raleigh (and spouse Mary Lou) Carmichael, Martinsville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Helen Hawkins, and a brother, Marvin Carmichael.
A private memorial service will be at Warsaw Community Church with Pastor Jeff Pfeifer of Warsaw Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Mich.
Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
