Menards Announces Grand Opening

The store is at 1000 Husky Trail, just off U.S. 30 at Parker Street, just off U.S. 30 at Parker Street on Husky Trail.[[In-content Ad]]The celebration will include deals on merchandise, prize give-aways, in-store demonstrations and appearances.
Menards is known throughout the Midwest for its selection of merchandise, tools for any job and in-store computers to help guests design their special projects. Menards carries the materials and tools for home improvement projects from just needing a light bulb or can of paint to building a new house. Menards also carries name-brand appliances, pet products, lawn and garden supplies, and even groceries.
A family-owned company started in 1960, Menards currently operates 252 home improvement stores in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Scott Fitterling, Warsaw Menards general manager, said, "We are really excited for the grand opening and have many events planned. We'll have several celebrities signing autographs including Paul Menards, plus product demonstrations, race cars on display, tons of prizes, a chainsaw carver and plenty of great deals on merchandise"
Among the celebrity appearances will be Raghib "Rocket" Ismail May 11 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Ismail was an All-American wide receiver and all-around player for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Ismail helped lead the Irish to the 1988 National Championship.
After college, Ismail went on to become a CFL Grey Cup Champion with the Toronto Argonauts. Ismail finished his career in the NFL, playing nine seasons as an outstanding receiver and return specialist with the Raiders, Panthers and Cowboys.
Paul Menard is a NASCAR driver, and he will appear May 12 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Entering his third season of NASCAR Sprint Cup competition, Menard made a significant off-season move. Menard now drives the No. 98 Menards Ford Fusion for Yates Racing but remains in his familiar neon yellow Menards-sponsored car. An Eau Claire, Wis., native, the 28-year-old Menard resides in Charlotte, N.C. Menard is coming off a solid 2008 season where he won the pole at Daytona in July and finished second at Talladega, ending the year 26th in the overall Cup point standings.
In addition to full-time NASCAR Sprint Cup racing, Menard will compete in 16 NASCAR Nationwide races in the No. 98 Menard Ford Fusion.
George McGinnis was a Indiana Hoosiers All-American and Pacers All-Star. He will make an appearance May 13 from 6 to 8 p.m.
In 1969, George McGinnis was named Indiana's Mr. Basketball while leading his Washington High School team to the state title. After becoming an All-American at Indiana University, McGinnis became a perennial All-Star while leading the Indiana Pacers to two ABA Championships. Also a three-time NBA All-Star, McGinnis is one of four players to have his jersey retired by the Pacers.
Tarik Glenn, an Indianapolis Colts Pro Bowl lineman, will appear May 14 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Glenn was the 19th overall pick in the 1997 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts and played his entire 10-year professional career with the team. Glenn played in a total of 154 NFL games and remarkably started in all of them. A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Glenn also started in 13 playoff games, earning a Super Bowl Ring in the final year of his career in 2006.
Also appearing will be John Gage demonstrating chainsaw carving May 9-12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

The public can ride Paul Menard's NASCAR racing simulator May 11 from noon to 8 p.m. and May 12 from noon to 5 p.m.
