Men Following Christ Offers 'Growing Together' Couple's Enrichment Event

July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.

By Staff Report-

Men Following Christ, in cooperation with the Greater Warsaw Ministerial Association, is sponsoring a couple's enrichment weekend, Nov. 9 and 10, at the Lakeview Middle School auditorium.
This two-day conference is aimed at strengthening marriages and non-married couple’s relationships.
If you are a dating couple, a newlywed couple or a longtime married couple, this Growing Together conference will give you an inspiring message to help your love for each other grow.
With the combination of the speaking of Jay and Laura Laffoon and the comedy of John Branyon, this event is designed to reach couples where they are, relating to the everyday challenges of relationships and pointing couples to God to help them learn how to grow closer together.
Today, there is an often unseen, unnoticed attack occurring within our community that can dramatically affect  key community marketplace objectives. This attack is against marriages, and the results of these attacks are very costly:
• One notable research project estimates that $6 billion is lost by American businesses and institutions due to decreased productivity stemming from marriage and relationship difficulties.
• An unprofitable work environment results from the many factors experienced by employees in failing relationships: increased absenteeism and presenteeism (being physically present but mentally absent), decreased health, increased anxiety and stress, and increased health insurance costs.
• Failing relationships can lead to affairs in the workplace, and up to 25 percent of these relationships lead to decreased productivity.
• Divorce can disrupt the productivity of an individual person for as long as three years.
Promoting healthy marriage can be a major part of any community’s focus – good marriages lead to greater productivity and greater growth. Communities like ours can reap incredible benefits in the loyalty of our workforce – reduced turnover, reduced stress on the job, and overall morale of the workforce – by supporting healthy marriages.
Nov. 9 will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m., with registration at 6 p.m.
Nov. 10, the event continues from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Light refreshments are included and child care is being provided.
