NAPPANEE – Melvin Leroy Ingle, 83, of 651 S. Jackson St., Nappanee, died at 1:47 a.m. Jan. 17, 2012, in LuAnn Nursing Home, where he lived since Jan. 2.

He was born Dec. 8, 1928, in Niles, Mich., to Edward and Essie Bennett Ingle. On Feb. 28, 1948, in Tipton, he married Marian Rosalie Empson, who survives.

He retired from Vitco, Nappanee, and worked part-time at GCI, Nappanee, until Sept 15, 2011. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was a member of Nappanee American Legion and the Church of God, Nappanee.

Also surviving are a daughter, Debra (and spouse Wade) Krull, Nappanee; two sons, Gary (and spouse Deb) Ingle, Mesa, Ariz., and Bruce Ingle, Nappanee; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Rev. Justin Moore officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
