Melvin E. Cook, 66, of Eldorado, Ohio, died March 17, 2012, in Brooksville (Fla.) Regional Hospital.

He was born June 22, 1945, in Kosciusko County, to Edward E. and Francis M. Geiser Cook. His wife of 43 years, Ella Cook, survives in Eldorado. 

He was a member of Prices Creek Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Eldorado, Ohio, and was a retired truck driver.

Also surviving are three daughters: Michaela (and spouse Arlen) Bower, Wellman, Iowa; Dorinda (and spouse Jesse) Bowman, Rocky Mountain, Va.; and Jenny (and spouse Randy) Moore, Silver Lake; 16 grandchildren; two sisters, Martha (and spouse Chuck) Burbank and Marilyn (and spouse Carl) Shankster, all of Silver Lake; three brothers: Alvin (and spouse Connie) Cook, Silver Lake; Jeff (and spouse Pam) Cook, Claypool; and Eldon (and spouse Becky) Cook, North Manchester; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Sunday at Prices Creek Old German Baptist Brethren Church, three miles south of Eldorado on Ohio 726. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 1 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 W. Main St., Easton, Ohio, is in charge of arrangements.
